Even though we travel quite a lot there are times when the monotony of our lives in Mumbai get the better of us. You've hit every restaurant, bar and nightclub you wanted to innumerable times and seen one too many pop-up events to be excited by them anymore. Sadly, nothing in the city seems like an adventure or a new experience now. And all that work load has worn you out and just then you get that much needed break with multiple holidays because 'Hey, it's finally that time of the year when the season of festive holidays beats drumrolls in your chest'! So we have to get out and do something new- but how nice would it be if it could be close-by and wouldn't require pre-booked flights and visas and a well planned itinerary?

Well, I discovered the perfect experience to satiate my soul. We hopped onto a speed boat, reached Alibaug, reached Radisson Blu Resort and Spa and checked us in to a mesmerizing, aesthetically designed executive spa villa. The place is located at the heart of nature, clear blue sky, nothing but beautiful gardens all around, adorned with reflection water bodies, ponds filled with blooming lotus and lilies and surrounded by coconut and mango trees. The villa comes with a front and back lawn laced with bamboo hedges.
We headed to Aparanta to get some breakfast. The breakfast spread had me hogging like never before! Fresh fruit juices, freshly baked doughnuts, danish pastry, muffins, sunny-side up with bacon and sausages, pancakes, crackers and cheese platter, oh how we binged!

Famished, we went to Aparanta for lunch, which is also the all day dining restaurant where they serve a sumptuous buffet covering Indian, Continental and Oriental cuisine. Our spread was a five course meal which started with starters like Chimi changa rolls, Amritsari bhutta tikki, Achari murgh tikka, Atishi paneer tikka and Murgh peshawari tikka. Next we tried salads like Greek salad, Chicken caesar salad, Watermelon and Feta cheese salad and Warm asian chicken salad. Then came the soups, Chicken Manchow, Tomato basil, Cream of Broccoli and Chicken and mushroom soup.
Main course had me wishing for a bigger appetite! Nazboo paneer lazeez, Subz Lucknowi, Murg do pyaza, Bhuna gosht, Saffron pulao, Chole kulche, Subz Miloni, Lagan ka murgh, Dal maharani and a some more!! Next we headed to the spa for an invigorating deep tissue massage. You can choose the oils for your therapy depending on whether you want to detox, energize, rejuvenate or just relax, and these oils' scents vary from floral, woody, fruity to spicy. The spa was started with a foot and cleansing ritual. The aromatherapy massage was a therapy of the masseuse using a combination of her palms, thumbs and fingers to open any knots and ease out all tissues. Never have I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated! A steam and a shower later I felt like I had been brought back to life.

And then it was dinner time. Yes the food was so amazing we just hadn't had enough! We went to Kokum and Spice, a specialty dinner restaurant where the vegetarian and non vegetarian thalis are absolutely delectable, and it catered to all our Coastal cuisine cravings. They start their meals offering you a trio of shooters- Taak, Solkhadi, Aam ka panna. For starters we had a sea food platter. Bharleli Pomfret, Shallow fried prawns, Green prawns, Surmayi fish, Crabs,Squids, and a Bombil preparation. Then we tried the Malwani kombdi masala, Goan fish curry, Vade, a Prawn curry, Neer dosa, followed by Ukdiche modak, Shrikhand, Karanji and Kheer.
Day 2 was all about breakfast in bed and a photoshoot at the beautiful property. Definitely my new go-to place for whenever I need a quick getaway mini vacation.
